The region of Kamień is situated in the northern part of West Pomeranian Province between Dźwina river and Kamień Bay, Baltic Sea and Goleniowska Backwoods. Kamień Pomorski, the District City, is among the oldest township centers in the area. This beautiful small town situated on the bank of Kamień Bay is 8km from the golden beach of Baltic Sea with a direct access by Dźwina River. Passenger boats from Dziwnów are touching the jetty. One can take a sea voyage or a cruise around the surrounding waters of Kamień Bay. There is also very fine opportunity for exercising active recreation on the water - sailing, canoeing, windsurfing. The natural resources of the community are: the salt springs, mud bath and a high content of iodine in the air. For that reason already since 1882 Kamień Pomorski was renowned as a health resort for rheumatic diseases, allergies, chronic diseases of the respiratory system.

In addition to the ample range of the recreation and sanatorium facilities there are also many relics in the town that reflect its passed time glory. The most splendid monument of history and at the same time the biggest relic is the Cathedral. In its compound there is an historical complex comprising the famous cloister garden of exotic greenery, the Treasury with precious old books, manuscripts and old coins and the baroque organ with its uncanny sounds attracting not only music lovers but also performers and composers. Each year the Festival of Organ Music is organized that lasts for three months beginning from June. Besides of the Cathedral also other relics can be visited, like: the Gothic Town Hall, the Manor of Diocesan Chancery, the St. Claus Church (Świętego Mikołaja) and the Wolin Gate from XIV century. At a distance of 25 km from Kamień Pomorski - at Kołczewo - you will find a golf field. A bit further begins Wolin National Park. They belong to the Kamień Pomorski area and there are also hunting grounds and grounds offering superb family hiking.

It should also be mentioned that the district of Kamień Pomorski is famous for Viking's Festival at Wolin, the Festival of Celebrity Stars and Choral Songs at Międzyzdroje and the boat racing "Highway of the Sun" ("Autostrada Słońca").
